About Me

Hi everyone, I am Joe and I was born an Army brat, enlisted in the USAF in 1970 (worked Avionics on RF-4C, T-29, KC-135, B-52G & H, F-4E, F-16 & F-15 AIS & AIS Mobile Facility Program), retired in 1991.  I worked in Manufacturing for the next 23 years in mainly Production Scheduling, retired from that in 2014. My best friend, my wife, passed away in 2015, two weeks short of our 40th anniversary (all of our kids have/had four legs and tails-dogs, horses, cats).  I believe that God does always answer our prayers…it’s just that sometimes the answer is “No”.  I’m not really sure what comes next, but I will make the best of it…

I have been learning about vacuum sealing for about three years, and am really enjoying it.

I have only used a Food Saver Model V4900, but the basic principles should apply to almost all manufacturers and models, with a few exceptions.  I have followed Food Saver instructions, on-line videos (You Tube and others), and experimented myself.  I initialy got started to keep from wasting food left in the refrigerator from cooking for only two, and now as a widower for ony one.

My purpose in creating this site was to pass on my experiences and sources for information that I have encountered, and hope that you will find some, if not all, helpful.

I hope all who visit enjoy the experience and find something helpful, or leave good information in the Comments section, or both!

If you have any questions or comments, please leave them below, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Thanks for visiting, and have a great day!!!

Best regards,

Joe

  1. Hello Joe,
This is my comment. I don’t know anything about Army lingo and I imagine a lot of other people will be left the way I was, huh? Meaning what does that mean? I believe Army brat can cover all your Army accomplishments. If you earned a badge that I would list. Question: What got you interested in vacuum sealing? I would expand more on that topic. My biggest thing people don’t want to hear that God sometimes answers prayers with a no.
That is your religious beliefs. Keep that to yourself. Joe, you want your readers to be interested in you a positive way. Readers, the first thing they are going to remember that God sometimes answers no. Honestly, I would delete that line.

My father was in the Army, hence I was born an “Army Brat”. I later served in the US Air force, which is a separate branch of the service, hence I have no “Army accomplishments”. If anyone is interested in learning about Air Force lingo, I am more than happy to discuss.

My religious beliefs are a distinct part of “About Me”, and I will NOT keep them to myself–they are a distinct part of who I am. I DO believe that God sometimes answers our prayers with “No”–that is a distinct part of “About Me”. I don’t expected anyone to believe the same way or agree with me, I don’t expect that belief of anyone else…all are free to have their own beliefs…that is one of the foundations of our country, which I had the distinct honor to serve for 21 years.

My understanding of the purpose of the “About Me” page is to give our readers and understanding of who we are, to build trust–hiding things that we hold dear, in my belief, is no way to do that.

Thank you again for commenting on my website,

      Joe
